Injury Prevention Through Skill Development
As sports begin at earlier and earlier ages, specific skills are learned and developed at younger ages. As development occurs during this skill development, if structural and muscular balance is not maintained, injuries will occur with more frequency and increased severity. Placing a focus on injury prevention and structural and muscular balance can go a long way to preventing overuse injuries and decreasing the severity of acute injuries.
